Motion Studio Dress Code

Please make sure that dancers are prepared when they arrive for class with proper attire and hair secured. Changing clothes should take place in the changing room not the bathroom. Dancers should never be outdoors in only their dance attire. Dance attire should be covered up when dancers are outside of the studio.

  • A neat and tidy appearance shows attentiveness and respect for students, teacher, and the art of dance.
  • Teachers must be able to see the dancer’s body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on
  • posture, alignment, etc.
  • Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck for all styles of dance.
  • Jewelry must not be loose or dangling. Stud earrings only.  No neclaces, bracelets or watches.
  • Gum chewing is not allowed due to danger of choking.
  • No loose-fitting pants, blue jeans or t-shirts, or satin house shoes!
  • No costumes are allowed in class unless a dress up day is announced by Motion Studio or the individual teacher.
  • Dancewear should be purchased at Motion Studio to ensure uniformity and quality.

Special 4 Week Mini Session Preschool Dance

Students should wear comfortable clothing that allows a full range of motion. A leotard or dance outfit is welcome but not required. Students can wear ballet slippers or be barefoot.

Acceptable warm-up clothing for ballet class

Legwarmers, tight wrap ballet sweaters, tight knit ballet shorts or leggings. Instructors may ask that warm ups be removed at any time during class.
